EVENTS & FIELD MEETS

GLFA GAME DINNER

April 23th, 2024
5pm-9pm

We are excited to have Ron Krupa as this year’s speaker. While living in the Philippines from 1977 to 1991, he worked with conservation efforts centered around the critically endangered Philippine eagle.

The Philippine Eagle is one of the rarest birds in the world, with an estimated population of fewer than 500 individuals.

Formerly an Illinois resident and GLFA member, he has been around the block so to speak. Everyone should enjoy his charismatic personality and storytelling.

Ron currently resides in Wichita, Kansas where he flies longwings on waterfowl and prairie chickens. We hope you can join us in welcoming him back to Illinois!

Members, if you received a flyer in the current issue of The Gauntlet, please note that the RSVP date on the printed flyer is incorrect.

Please RSVP by April 11th, as shown on the corrected flyer seen here.

WHAT IS A FIELD MEET?

A field meet is an organized outing where falconers come together to hunt their birds in the great outdoors. Mini-Meets are a day or two, and the Major-Meet is a three day event where we reserve a block of rooms at a hotel and stay the weekend.
